The first sensor used in Sony’s best 2024 phone will have a size of 1.4 inches with a pixel size of 1.12 microns and an aperture of f/1.4. Also, this sensor supports dual autofocus.
The second camera of the Xperia 1 Mark 6 has an ultra-wide angle and has a 1.2.7-inch sensor with a pixel size of 0.6 microns, which uses Sony’s 2×2 On-Chip Lens technology known as OCL. This feature increases the resolution, speed and dynamic range of the sensor.
The third sensor has the same dimensions as the second sensor, with the difference that the second sensor is used in the ultra-wide camera, but the third sensor is used in the telephoto camera. Sony’s flagship telephoto camera supports 3x optical zoom.
It remains to be seen whether the Xperia 1 Mark 6 can beat the Galaxy S24 Ultra or the iPhone 15 Pro Max for the best camera phone spot.
Most likely, this year will be the last year that Sony will release its phones under the Xperia name. It is expected that in 2025, Sony phones with a new brand and a new design language will be launched on the market.
