MediaTek introduced a new system-on-chip (SoC) from the 6000 series called Dimensity 6100 Plus. Since the 5G Dimension 6080 chip is ranked below the Dimension 810, we expect the new chip to be at the same level.
The Dimensity 6100 Plus system-on-chip, unlike its predecessors, has a very optimized energy consumption, because it is manufactured with a 4nm process. This chip supports high refresh rate displays, AI-based camera technologies and 5G.
Dimension 6100 Plus has impressive features. The maximum frequency of the Cortex A78 cores of this chip reaches 2.95 GHz. Other features of Dimensity 6100 Plus include Mali-G77 MC9 GPU, support for 200 megapixel cameras or three 64 megapixel cameras.
Dimension 6100 Plus supports Full HD Plus displays with a refresh rate of 144 Hz or QHD with a refresh rate of 90 Hz and offers various communication options such as Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, connection to 5G networks below 6 GHz, GPS and NFC. The chip also supports 1TB of UFS 3.1 storage and 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM.
Dimensity 6100 Plus is equipped with MediaTek’s HyperEngine 5.0 technology, which provides excellent performance when playing games. The new chip also supports MediaTek’s artificial intelligence-based camera technologies, thus offering the possibility of recording higher-quality and clearer photos and videos.
According to the announcement GizmochinaPhones equipped with Dimensity 6100 Plus will be launched in the third quarter of 2023.
