If the airline company cancels the trip one week before the arrival date of the flight, it must return the cost of the domestic ticket in full to the passenger. If the airline announces the cancellation of the flight within 6 days to 24 hours before the flight, the airline must refund the ticket and pay the damages.

This damage is equivalent to 30% of the basic price of the ticket. The damage of flight cancellation in the 24 hours before the flight until the departure of the plane will be equal to the refund of the ticket and 50% of its base price.

The rights of passengers on foreign flights are regulated in an agreement known as the Warsaw Pact, and the countries that have accepted this agreement are required to comply with it. Iran has accepted the Warsaw Pact in the 1340s and should act based on it regarding the delay of foreign flights. Payment of damages in foreign flights based on this agreement is as follows:

2 to 3 hours delay

If the delay in foreign flights is about 2 to 3 hours, no compensation will be paid to the passengers; But provided that the flight delay does not increase, they will be welcomed.

3 to 5 hour delay

If the flight delay lasts more than 3 to 5 hours, passengers should be provided with hot food and facilities such as telephones for calling. If the passenger wishes and requests, it is necessary to change his flight or refund the ticket in full in order to cancel the trip.

A delay of more than 5 hours

When the delay lasts for more than 5 hours, the airline company is obliged to pay for the damage while accommodating the passengers and providing them with welfare services such as telephone. This amount is equivalent to 20% of the base value of the purchased foreign ticket.

Notice of delay in advance

If the airline informs the passengers about the delay up to 72 hours before the flight, there is no need to pay compensation. In this case, the new flight time is the basis for calculating the damages that must be paid due to possible delays.

Delay due to weather and security conditions

Some flights are delayed due to weather or security conditions. In this situation, passengers will be treated and ticket money will be returned to them.

The payment of compensation for the cancellation of foreign flights is different depending on the time of the announcement of the cancellation of the trip. If the passengers are informed about the cancellation up to 14 days before the flight, they will return the money received for the ticket.

If the news of cancellation of the trip is announced 14 days to 48 hours before the flight, in addition to returning the ticket, the airline must also pay 20% of the basic amount of the ticket as damages to the passengers.

Sometimes the flight is canceled from 24 hours before the flight to the time of departure. In such a situation, they should return the entire ticket amount to the passenger and give him 30% of the basic price of the ticket as well.
