Microsoft’s website describes the Windows 11 File Explorer bug as follows: “After installing a newer update, you may not be able to see Effective Access under Advanced Security Settings for shared files or folders. On affected devices, when the Advanced Security Settings button is selected, you will receive the message Computing effective access…. but query results may not be displayed and explorer.exe may continue to use the CPU after Advanced Security Settings is closed. Of course, most users who use Windows at home will probably not encounter this bug.”
