In a press release, Qualcomm unveiled the 2nd generation Snapdragon 4 processor. This processor is produced for budget phones and breathes new life into low-end phones and brings attractive features to them.
In Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, Qualcomm focuses especially on power consumption. According to this company, the new processor brings “one-day charging” to budget phones. Also, Qualcomm says the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 uses a high-speed CPU unit and has an integrated 5G modem and a better image signal processor.
According to AndroidQualcomm’s new system-on-chip in the CPU unit uses the Kryo core with a maximum frequency of 2.2 GHz. Qualcomm says that Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 supports fast charging and the charging percentage of phones equipped with this processor will reach 50% in just 15 minutes.
Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 is compatible with modern Full HD+ 120 Hz displays. The image signal processor in the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 supports functions such as digital image stabilization and has faster autofocus and reduces image blur better than the previous generation. This chip reduces noise during video recording thanks to MCTF.
Qualcomm says the 2nd generation Snapdragon 4 chip also focuses on artificial intelligence. Phones equipped with this chip can correct the lighting based on artificial intelligence so that the images recorded in dimly lit environments have better details. Another interesting feature is the background noise removal tool through artificial intelligence.
The new Qualcomm chip uses the X61 5G modem, which offers very high speeds and supports more networks and frequencies. The first phones equipped with Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 will be launched this year. It goes without saying that Redmi and Vivo have committed to produce phones with this processor.
