The closing ceremony of the “Opportunities of Iran in the Digital Age” conference was held last night at Milad Tower Convention Center, and members of the IDEAS group, which is the short name of this conference and the platform designed by this group, announced their evaluation and summary of the conference in short speeches.

The Conference on Iran’s Opportunities in the Digital Age was held on July 25th and 26th in various sections and panels with the presence of experts and experts in the field of information technology as well as some activists in the field of digital economy businesses, and the closing ceremony was held yesterday after the panels ended. has also been done and thus the first period of this event has ended. Of course, Farhad Nili, University Professor, Economist and Director of Rahman Group, who was the organizer of this conference, announced that this was the first edition of the IDEAS conference and the next editions of this event will be held in the future.

The participants’ summation in the closing section revolved around the subject of governance and governance in the digital era and the role of the ruler in this era. As the moderator of this panel, Reza Ghorbani explained that in the conference on Iran’s opportunities in the digital age, both people were present as members of the society, as well as the private sector and activists of the Fawa field, but the government was absent in this event, and he further asked what the role of the government is and what it should be. ?

Mohammad Fazli, a sociologist, said in response to this question: “In my opinion, development means the joint projects of the governance of the private sector and society; Either we accept this idea and give it shape or we fall back years. Therefore, the government should accept that the society goes its own way and he, as the ruler, should only listen and create synergy in the meantime.”

The need to combine participation and power

Fazeli believes that people in the society have changed due to the developments that have happened especially in the field of technology, and understanding these changes on the part of the government is the only possible way for the government to continue its path successfully. He explained in this regard:

“The Iranian person has changed today; When he sees different countries and societies with his phone in his hand, his outlook, thinking and desires change. In this way, the Iranian person is complicated, so to speak, and the ruler must change his command in the same way.”

This sociologist considers it necessary to combine the participation of the society with the power of the government and said: “The combination of participation and power is the narrow path of freedom.” The ruler must accept this participation and understand that he can no longer create a regulatory council where 29 out of 30 members are government officials and one representative of both the private sector and the private sector does not have a place in it. The private sector must respond to the government’s trust in itself.”

This is the beginning of a platform

Economist Farhad Nili, university professor and director of the Rahman collection, also addressed the issue of “the fabric of digital life” and explained that this IDEAS conference and platform was the result of a year of study by a 6-person think tank.

Nili stated that “we tried to design a methodology and provide a platform” and explained that this methodology is actually a quadruple, consisting of “Iranian individuals, Iranian businesses, the Iranian governance system and Iranian civilization, whose four pillars in addition to They create opportunities and digital bottlenecks.”

According to the director of the Rahman collection, the IDEAS platform was created as a result of this fabric and its components and has its own methodology. This platform is now available on the Rahman website and can be constantly improved and improved with the help and participation of users.

In the end, Farhad Nili stated that the conference on the opportunities facing the digital economy has passed its first term and announced that this event will be held in the following years as well. He also said: “This is the message of our conference: the end of this conference is the beginning of the IDEAS platform.”

The ruler should be with the private sector

Waliullah Fatemi, the founder of Toussaint Holding, another speaker present at the closing ceremony of this conference, also pointed out the difference between the current era and the past eras and said: “The difference between the digital era and the electronic era is that in the electronic era, governance played a central and effective role, but in the digital era, the ruler cannot have such a role; “It cannot represent all generations and should be sided with the private sector.”

This university professor believes that the issue of innovation is a big concern for the government and scientific institutions are obliged to inform the government about this issue and make demands from the government about it: “Innovation and its risks are a big challenge and concern for the government that different institutions and organizations , scientific collections, universities and successful businesses must contribute to the future of this era and manage threats. All these pillars must be put together to bring innovation to people and people’s well-being.”

The government has to see new horizons

Farshad Fatemi, a faculty member of Sharif University of Technology, also explained that the ruler is bound to look at new horizons and continued: “It is important to understand historical twists and opportunities. Previously, due to the limitation of the traditional resources of the economy, the government used to enter in the field of pricing and monitoring and was present in the discussion of resource allocation, but now that these resources are ending, it must change its view and look at new horizons.

He further pointed out the characteristics that the ruler should have in the current situation and said: “Right now we need the ruler as a single regulator, decision-maker, predictable and responsive. This is our demand from the government, and we have a duty to warn the government about the historical twists while making demands.”

Our task is to disambiguate and clarify

Majid Nili Ahmadabadi, a member of Tehran University’s academic faculty, also explained: “The traditional economy and our governing body are of the same race. Industrial managers have also had a history of governance and understand each other’s language; But the companies that came into existence after the historical turning point do not have this advantage. Therefore, these companies and people in this field have the duty to disambiguate and have a serious and transparent conversation with the government.”

Of course, according to him, the government should also listen because “whenever there is listening in new areas and fields, we have taken a step forward. This procedure should continue to have a growing path.”
