The entrustment of the officials of monitoring audio and video broadcasting platforms to the TV and radio stations was followed by many negative reactions. With the approval of a single article in the last meeting of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution with the presence of Ebrahim Raisi, it was decided that the regulation, supervision and licensing of VODs will be done by the Broadcasting Organization.

In the second paragraph of the single article approved by the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, it is stated: “Responsibility for regulating, licensing and monitoring active media in the field of immersive audio and video, including user-oriented and publisher-oriented media (VOD) as well as home television networks, especially the production of series and programs “Television and the like are the responsibility of the Broadcasting Organization.”

This resolution is now waiting to be turned into a bill to be sent to the parliament and become a law after the review and approval of the representatives. This is despite the fact that after the news of the approval of this single article, many cinematographers protested against the authority granted to TV and Radio to legislate and monitor the universal audio and video media, and issued a statement demanding a reconsideration of this matter.

In the text of Khana Cinema’s statement, it is stated: “Iranian Cinema Society, based on its inherent and legal duties and for the formation of business relations and regulations related to its members, newly released news from the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution regarding supervision in the field of home theater and the issues raised about He considers the issuance of cinema licenses to be disappointing and against the progress of the economy of the cinema industry, and he expects the authorities and responsible institutions to abandon the insistence on old and obsolete foundations and act based on the design of new regulatory methods, in accordance with the contemporary requirements and the accepted custom of the society.

In this text, filmmakers have also pointed out the negative consequences that the monitoring of radio and television will have in this area:

Having expressed all these points, Khaneh Cinema has requested a review of this resolution of the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution and has requested related institutions to leave decision-making in the field of cinema and home theater to professional experts in this field and artists.

Following the release of the news that the supervision and regulation responsibility for home viewing platforms was handed over to television, a group of cinematographers also published stories on their pages in social networks in a protest action and expressed their opposition to this decision with the title “End of home viewing”.

In the text of the joint picture that the cinematographers have published in protest against this issue, it is written: “With the green light of the head of the government, the home show also fell into the hands of radio and television, and this means a tsunami of banning artists and the end of people’s entertainment.”
