With the launch of the HTC Vive XR Elite mixed reality headset, HTC already drew a line for Apple

The rest of the XR Elite’s specs are respectable, but not very impressive for a headset coming out in 2023. The display of this headset has a resolution of about 2K per eye, provides a 110-degree field of view, and achieves a 90Hz refresh rate. The new HTC headset uses 12GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and a Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 processor. We have seen this processor before in the Meta Quest 2 headset that was released in 2021.
The XR Elite mixed reality headset is equipped with four wide-angle cameras and through these cameras it tracks the user’s hand movements. The XR Elite also has a pair of motion controllers that are similar in design to the Vive Focus 3 controller.
The XR Elite headset is also equipped with a series of unusual features. For people who wear glasses, the XR Elite has a lens diopter adjustment option that allows the headset to be used without glasses. HTC says its headset uses a battery on the back that provides about two hours of charging. If you want, you can replace the battery and use the headset for a longer time.
XR Elite has a built-in secondary battery that powers the headset for up to 10 minutes; In this way, you can replace the battery without worrying about the device turning off. The Vive Focus 3 also had a replaceable battery, but the headset would turn off during battery replacement. The new HTC headset is charged through the USB-C port and the controllers of this product are also rechargeable and last up to 10 hours.
