How to download the desired ISO of any version of Windows?

Unlike older versions of Windows that had a relatively difficult installation process, downloading the digital version of the Windows 11 installation file is very easy. Currently, Microsoft provides media creation tools and ISO files needed to install Windows, and they usually contain older builds.

The important point is that if you download the Windows ISO file from Microsoft, you have to download the latest updates during installation or after installation.

Also, Microsoft does not allow you to download official Windows ISO files without a valid Volume License Service Center (VLSC) subscription for devices with ARM-based processors. The company does not provide ISO files for every build released to the Windows Insider program; For this reason, it is not possible to install such builds without connecting to the Internet and performing several additional steps.

Fortunately, there is a very useful and simple solution as the Unified Update Platform (UUP), which enables the creation of Windows-ready ISOs for any computer with any processing architecture.

What is Unified Update Platform (UUP)?

Unified Update Platform (UUP) is the latest generation of Microsoft update delivery method It runs on all advanced Windows devices from desktop computers to laptops, tablets, servers and IoT devices. The solution is completely modular in nature and covers everything from monthly quality updates to annual feature updates and Insider Previews.

Todd Martin, Microsoft’s main program manager, says UUP will become the default and only way to download high-quality updates. The pinnacle of UUP’s work is limiting other individual downloads. Instead of downloading a single update package for each device, it downloads only the set of files required for the target system for which updates are available.

You don’t need to download the full ISO file or the encrypted ESD package to build a full Windows; Because UUP handles it by creating a list of highly compressed payloads after a successful download, based on the principle of differential upgrades and then related execution.

What is UUP Dump and how does it work?

Microsoft started using UUP publicly since Windows 10 build 14986 was released on the Insider channel in December 2016. A few months later, developers on the My Digital Life forum presented the UUP Dump project after successfully reverse-engineering the protocol and download mechanism, initially as a PHP solution, which had to be hosted on a personal server.

Then, the project turned into a website where anyone can create a download configuration file of their choice. In the next step, you can download and install the necessary files directly from Microsoft servers and finally create the ISO file.

UUP Dump is partially open source and via GitHub Its codes can be accessed. To prevent the proliferation of malicious copies, project maintainers must follow a strict policy before granting access to the original codebase. However, there are several side versions of this project; But to avoid confusion, in the following article, we will only deal with the original version.

How to use UUP Dump to create custom Windows ISO build?

The UUP Dump project allows users to dump ISO files for Windows 11 in the Canary, Beta, Developer, Insider Preview channels, pre-production builds like 22H2/22621.x and 21H2/22000.x, builds 22H2/19045.x and 21H2/19044. .x and 1809/17763.x Windows 10 and Windows Server 22H2/20349.x and 21H2/20348.x.

In addition, it is possible to create Windows Arm64 ISO for testing, and the important point is that depending on the host operating system, even the possibility of creating an updated ISO is available to you. It is recommended to run the UUP Dump script on a newer Windows operating system such as Windows 11 or 10. The following steps will show you how to use the mentioned script to get the Windows ISO file.

1. Go to the following link in your favorite browser and go to the UUP Dump project.

2. Under the Quick options card, select the desired channel and click on the CPU architecture button. If you are looking for a specific build, use the search section.
