Elon Musk promised again; The start of human testing of the Neuralink chip in 2023

Elon MuskTesla’s CEO says the first human test of Neuralink’s brain computer chip will probably happen before the end of 2023. Musk has not yet said how many people and for how long the Neuralink chip will be tested in the first phase.

This is not the first time that Elon Musk mentions the start of Neuralink human trials in 2023. Last month, it was announced that after much effort, Neuralink had finally received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration to conduct the first clinical study in humans.

According to the report ReutersEarly this year, Neuralink started a new plan to register patients to announce the necessary conditions to participate in clinical trials. According to the company’s website, all those who are at least 18 years old and are struggling with quadriplegia, paraplegia, blindness, deafness and inability to speak can register in the new plan.

Neuralink was founded in 2017 and since then has repeatedly presented its brain computer chip as a medical device. Neuralink has been working on the chip for years and has previously tested the chip in monkeys and pigs. The chip caused the death of animals in some cases and drew a lot of criticism towards Neuralink.

Neuralink says it is trying to use its brain computer chip to help people with tetraplegia to control computers and mobile phones through their minds. Also, this company seeks to cure blindness and inability to move and speak in humans.

In addition to the chip, Neuralink has produced a special robot that is responsible for implanting the chip in the brain. The threads connected to the chip are so narrow that human hands are not able to implant them.
