Qualcomm had a busy time today. The company unveiled the latest generation of its chip family for wearables, which includes the Snapdragon W5 and W5 Plus.
Qualcomm has also revealed the date of its next Snapdragon Summit event. This annual event is always held in Hawaii and this year will continue. However, although this conference is generally held in December, in 2022 it is scheduled for 15-17 November (24-26 November 1401) and will last for three days.
Qualcomm always unveils its latest and greatest mobile chips at the Snapdragon Summit, so this year we will see the official launch of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Of course, there is a possibility of introducing other chips along with this flagship system-on-chip (SoC).
While Qualcomm did not specifically mention the reason for moving the Snapdragon Summit to November 2022, this decision is probably related to the state of the Chinese smartphone market because sales of these products increase significantly during the Chinese New Year; Therefore, many Chinese companies tend to launch their top new devices before the start of this festival, and the early introduction of flagship chips can be a double incentive for these companies.
