The power consumption of Nvidia’s RTX 40 series graphics cards will probably reach 850 watts

It is no secret that Nvidia is developing RTX 40 series chips and graphics cards that are apparently powered by the Ada Lovelace microarchitecture. Now a revelation on Twitter with a username Greymon55Claims that the next generation of Nvidia graphics cards will probably be unveiled in the third quarter of this year, and ironically, they also have a lot of power consumption.
The revealer says that the power consumption of RTX 40 series graphics cards reaches even more than 450 watts! The next generation of GeForce series will use the new PCIe Gen5 power connector, which may be a reason for the high power consumption of these graphics cards. It is said that the power consumption of the highest graphics cards of this family can reach 850 watts, which is almost twice as much as the current RTX 3090 Ti.
Of course, it should be noted that probably only Nvidia’s professional and flagship graphics cards based on the AD102 Lovelace chip have such a high power consumption. So far, contradictory information has been released about the next generation of Green Team graphics chips; But citing some published reports, we suspect that the AD102 graphics chip is based on the 5-nanometer TSMC lithography. In addition, the chip will benefit from an integrated design with an estimated mold size of 600 square millimeters.
