Since the release of Wear OS 3, Google has tripled its market share

At the Google I/O 2021 conference, the company introduced an optimized version of Wear OS by implementing the features it acquired from its partner Samsung. Samsung also ditched the old Tizen operating system and used Wear OS 3 on its Galaxy Watch.
According to information shared by Google at CES 2023, Wear OS 3 has helped the company more than triple the number of active Wear OS watches since the launch of Wear OS 3 in 2021.
to report Sammobile, after Wear OS 3 launched with the Galaxy Watch 4 series in August 2021, it came with the Montblanc Summit 3 in June 2022 and the Galaxy Watch 5 series two months later. Google also launched its Pixel Watch with Wear OS 3 in October 2022. Other companies’ smartwatches, such as the Fossil Gen 6, along with the Gen 6 Wellness Edition, run Wear OS 3.
Google said that the increased feature set of Wear OS 3 and all the new things that users could do more easily and efficiently on their smartwatch helped them to have more active Wear OS users.
The report specifically emphasizes that with Wear OS, users can use the camera app to take selfies or use it as the shutter button on Pixel phones. Additionally, Google Home can be used on a smart watch with the latest operating system to control all connected appliances.
The company also announced that the Fast Pair feature, which was introduced in Android in 2017, will cross the 320 million connection mark in 2022. This includes headphones from brands like Beats, JBL, Beats (owned by Samsung), OnePlus, and Sony.
Google also shared another statistic and emphasized that Nearby Share is currently available on nearly 3 billion devices.
