Samsung unveiled a 27-inch 5K monitor to challenge Apple’s Display Studio

It is not clear whether the new Samsung monitor supports the local exposure technique. Most likely, ViewFinity S9 cannot support local exposure. Therefore, we don’t expect this monitor to perform as well as mini LED and OLED monitors in terms of black colors and contrast. Samsung says the ViewFinity S9 monitor uses the HDR600 standard to improve shadows and image detail in bright areas.

Samsung’s new monitor is designed to satisfy content producers; But surprisingly, it uses the Tizen TV operating system. Thus, the user can access movie and series streaming applications such as Netflix.

The new Samsung monitor comes with a 4K webcam that you can attach to the device if needed. Samsung says the new webcam software zooms and tracks the main subject.

Samsung has introduced a new application called Samsung Smart Calibration, which makes the process of calibrating the monitor much easier. The user can modify the white balance and gamma and the RBG color balance through this application.

Samsung has not yet announced the exact price and release date of the ViewFinity S9; But he says that this monitor will be released in early 2023. Apple’s 27-inch Studio Display monitor was launched at a price of $1,599.
