Samsung is increasing its workforce to produce 3nm chips

American companies will face a shortage of 27,000 people in the next ten years, while China’s labor shortage is expected to reach 300,000 by 2025.

Korea needs about 6,000 people with master’s and doctorate degrees in semiconductor engineering to meet this demand.

Teams at the R&D center in Hwaseong will work on improving wafer performance. Next-generation chips are in high demand, while older nodes are no longer in demand in the market.

Analysts expect the chip market to expand 1.3 times over the next five years, prompting Samsung to increase investment in signing partnership agreements with major universities. However, South Korea is facing a decline in the quality of education, which makes Samsung questionable.
