This afternoon, the US Coast Guard announced that a remotely piloted vehicle had found a large amount of debris on the ocean floor. Experts later linked this debris to the outer body of the Titan submarine. The remains of the submarine were found approximately 500 meters away from the chest of the Titanic at 16:30 Iran time.

He said the Titan submarine probably exploded in the waters of the North Atlantic, killing all five people on board. The Titan apparently exploded while traveling near the wreck of the Titanic.
It is not clear whether the explosion occurred on Sunday or in the following days while an international search for the submarine was underway.
