The next generation is called “Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform”, as it was revealed from last year’s announcement. According to rumors, this chip will include Arm’s new Cortex-X3 core, four Cortex-A715 cores and three Cortex-A510 cores.
Last year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip was a significant upgrade compared to its predecessor; But later he faced problems with heat. Qualcomm later updated the design with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, which benefited greatly from the move to TSMC’s more efficient 4nm process. Battery life was a particularly big improvement.
