Oppo is likely to make a dedicated processor for smartphones

Oppo is not an inexperienced company when it comes to smartphone chips and has already managed to make an image signal processor, however, it has not yet ventured into building a dedicated system-on-chip (SoC).
System-on-chip refers to a processor that consists of different processing units such as CPU, GPU, and NPU. SoC is the best chip to use in smartphones and some laptops.
Oppo was able to improve the imaging quality of its phones by producing the Oppo Marisilicon image signal processor. An unconfirmed rumor claims that the Chinese company is looking to produce a proprietary system-on-chip. This processor is currently undergoing development and will probably be introduced in the second quarter of 2023. Apparently, the chip design is in the final stages.
to the writing of GizmochinaOppo’s proprietary processor will be produced in the third quarter of 2023 with TSMC’s four-nanometer lithography. Phones equipped with this processor will have a separate 5G modem. Most likely, these phones will arrive in 2024. Oppo may go for modern 3nm lithography in the second generation of its proprietary chip.
