To reduce energy consumption, the “Battery Saving Mode” option is displayed in the host’s settings section. This feature reduces the speed of receiving information from GPS and turns off the app’s animations. Battery saving mode turns most of the badge map to black.
In phones equipped with OLED displays, the pixels are turned off to display black. If your phone has an OLED display, darkening the user interface can have a significant impact on reducing app power consumption.
