Introducing the Dodge Electric Muscle Car, the electric charger for the future

We have known for a long time that Dodge plans to build an electric muscle car, and now this car has finally been officially announced. Of course, this attractive electric coupe, which is called Charger Daytona SRT, is currently presented as a concept, but its features are very close to the production model. Dodge is trying hard to shape its electric future very differently from the competition, and for this reason, Muscle Electric has equipped its electric work with attractive features such as an exhaust system! The car also promises to break all Dodge performance benchmarks to date.

The Charger Daytona SRT Concept is designed to appeal to loyal Dodge buyers, many of whom are opposed to electric vehicles. To that end, the company has designed its electric muscle car with a completely retro look inspired by classic Dodge muscle cars from 1968 to 1970. At the front of the car, we see a wide and low nose that is inspired by the old charger. On the hood of this concept, there is a large depression and something called R-Wing, which allows air to pass through the hood and increases the downforce.

In the side profile of the car, we see a classic form, although the hidden door handles are a modern feature. Although this is a sports coupe, its trunk lid is designed in the form of a liftback, which provides easy access to the trunk. By folding the rear seats, this trunk provides unexpected cargo space for a working muscle. A new triangular logo can be seen on the front and back of the Charger Daytona Concept. This badge, called Fratzog, was placed on the muscle of Dodge works from 1962 to 1976, and now it has become a symbol of the company’s electrification.

In addition, on the front fenders of this concept, there is a sign similar to the Hellcat, but this is not a Hellcat, but a sign for Dodge’s electric drive called Banshee (Banshee is an Irish myth. It is a female spirit that brings messages from the other world and is a sign of death. Is). For now, all we know is that it’s an 800-volt, all-wheel-drive powertrain that provides better performance than the Hellcat, as Dodge hasn’t released any other information about the Banshee. Of course, it is said that there will be a powershot mode in this car that can provide the driver with up to 25 horsepower for a few seconds.

But let’s look at one of the most attractive features of this electric muscle car, its exhaust system. Called the Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust, this system is the first exhaust system in the automotive industry for an electric model and can produce a sound similar to the 126 dB roar of the current Hellcat engine. When electricity is converted into kinetic energy in this car, the air flows in this exhaust system and the sound produced by passing through an amplifier is broadcast from the back of the car. Even in the back of the car, the air pressure in the exhaust outlet will be felt.

Inside the Charger Daytona Concept, we see a completely modern and, of course, sporty atmosphere, which has a relatively ordinary design. A 12.3-inch central display that is angled towards the driver, a 16-inch digital amp screen and an 8-inch head-up display to display important car information are among the features inside this concept. In addition, attractive lighting has been done around the car cabin and on the central console there is also a gear lever similar to the old manual gearboxes. Dodge has installed four different driving modes in this electric muscle, including automatic, sport, track and drag, while touch buttons for air conditioning settings can be seen under the central display.

Dodge plans to launch the production version of the concept in 2024 to replace the current Charger and Challenger, whose production will end at the end of 2023. The company has promised to stay true to its muscle car roots as it enters the electric car era, and the production-ready Charger Daytona SRT concept may be able to deliver on that promise.
