A closer look at the CPU specifications shows that many models, including the Core i5-12600, lack low-power cores; But all Core i7 and Core i9 processors use low-power cores. This confirms Intel’s claim that low-power cores have the same processing power as eighth-generation chips and can be used as high-power cores when needed.

As always, Intel processors come in two categories with and without integrated GPUs (F-extension processors). The new processors support DDR4-3200 and DDR5-4800 RAMs along with PCIe 4.0 and PCIe 5.0 interfaces. None of these modules will be able to overclock the frequency; But memory overclocking will be possible.

Intel also unveiled twelfth-generation KS processors at its special event for CES 2022; The processor, according to the executive vice president of Intel Consumer Computers, will be available by the end of the first quarter of 2022. This processor will run at a frequency of 5.5 GHz.

Laminar coolers

Intel says the new Alder Lake socket also forced the company to recreate CPU bundle coolers; Because old coolers are not compatible with new sockets. According to Intel, the Laminar RH1 cooler with RGB lighting and very low 2.6 dB is designed for Core i9 processors; Other processors will use the 3.9 dB Laminar RM1 cooler. Intel will also sell Pentium Gold and Celeron processors with RS1 cooling.

Alder Lake compatible chipsets

The giant of the semiconductor world unveiled all the new chipsets compatible with Alderlic processors in its exclusive ceremony. Intel expects more than 200 motherboard models to be produced by 140 companies in 30 countries for 12th generation processors. In October, the company introduced the Z690 chipset with the ability to overclock Alderlic high-powered, low-power cores.

In addition to the Z690, Intel now offers three more chipsets, the H670, B660 and H610, for motherboards compatible with twelfth-generation processors. The H670 and B660 chipsets, for example, are very similar; The difference is that the B660 offers fewer expansion options.
