[ad_1]

With rumors of Windows 12 coming next year increasing, Microsoft has confirmed that the next major update to Windows 11, 23H2, will be delivered in the last quarter of 2023.

Microsoft has yet to reveal the specifics of its next big Windows update, but there are plenty of features the Redmond-based tech giant is testing. One of the great features of Windows 11 is the Copilot tool, which uses GPT artificial intelligence technology.

The modern and up-to-date version of File Explorer is another change of the next big update of Windows 11. Meanwhile, gamers will probably enjoy the native RGB settings in this operating system because they won’t need to install additional tools to control the lighting. Other interesting features of this update include dark mode in Paint and native support for RAR and 7zip compressed files.

Windows 11’s 23H2 update will be downloaded to systems currently running 22H2, but will remain inactive until Microsoft is ready to release it. The company then activates the new features and publishes the new version number of the operating system at the desired time by releasing a light and small activation package known as eKB.

Microsoft already used the above approach in Windows 10, and this operating system was upgraded from version 1903 to 1909 almost four years ago. The main advantage of the mentioned method is that both the output and input versions use the same basic code, and as a result, IT units that manage the software sector of the entire organization will have less to worry about possible failures.

Microsoft has also confirmed the release of a new Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC) version of Windows 11 for the second half of 2024. LTSC versions of Windows are suitable for computers with special uses, such as running facility air conditioning systems, because they can receive future security patches.

According to the announcement Vergeit seems that Microsoft has once again returned to the schedule of releasing a new operating system in three-year intervals, and this decision means that the new Windows will probably arrive in 2024.
