Get to know the revolutionary technologies of the last decade

These four technologies created new types of invention, creativity, visualization and interaction. Blockchain and Metaverse enable you to produce, share or even sell your content. On the other hand, NFT and cryptocurrency technologies allow you to control and own your financial assets and personal data more easily and conduct economic activity more safely.

7. Wearable gadgets

The smart watch has been the most important wearable gadget in the last decade. Since 2013, with the introduction of Samsung’s Pebble and Galaxy Gear smart watches, this wearable technology has been widely used by the people of the world. Smart watches enabled users to work with some practical applications, mobile notifications, voice recognition, Bluetooth communication and even cameras, and became complementary tools for smartphones.

In 2015, Apple released its first smart watch called Apple Watch. Apple added features such as heart rate sensor, retina display, Apple Pay and some other features to the smart watch. Gradually, the smart watch became an independent tool with much more advanced features.

In addition to the smart watch, Apple’s AirPods are also one of the most common wearable gadgets, the first generation of which was launched in 2016 along with the iPhone 7. The second generation Airpod was introduced in 2019 and features such as noise cancellation, 3D sound and Siri (Apple’s intelligent voice assistant) were added to it.

Smart glasses are another wearable gadget that has been developed by the world’s technology giants for years. In 2021, Facebook company, in collaboration with Ray Ban, unveiled its special glasses called Ray Ban Stories. These glasses consist of two cameras, two micro speakers, a triple array microphone, Qualcomm processor and capacitive touch on the handle. With these glasses, you can record images and videos for your Facebook or Instagram page and share them immediately. Recently, Apple unveiled Vision Pro mixed reality glasses with extraordinary hardware and unique software.

Here we briefly introduce some of the most amazing wearable gadgets. We will certainly face much smarter and more sophisticated gadgets in the next decade.

8. Augmented reality and virtual reality

You’ve probably heard the terms “augmented reality” and “virtual reality” before, and maybe you’ve used a VR headset. According to Sah, with augmented reality we can add things to the real environment through our mobile screen or augmented reality glasses. In the case of virtual reality, we need to wear a special headset to completely enter a virtual world with all other visual and audio features.

Of course, these are not very new technologies. In fact, since the 1960s, virtual reality has been used in cases such as training soldiers, testing product quality in some industries, simulating space operations for NASA astronauts, and simulating surgery. But due to the lack of technological advancement, its uses and capabilities were much more limited than what we see today.

With the introduction of Microsoft’s Oculus Rift and HoloLens headsets in 2016, the virtual reality industry entered a new phase and was able to be released to the public. Since then, various companies such as Sony for PlayStation, Microsoft, Apple and Meta have unveiled and released a variety of VR headsets.

9. Global Positioning System (GPS)

A Global Positioner is a satellite tracking system that sends precise signals to Earth to determine the user’s location. This system was developed in the 1970s to locate US Army soldiers. Gradually, the use of the locator became more general. In the last ten years, the use of navigation applications has become one of the daily habits. Today, finding the location of any place in the world is as simple as opening an app on your phone. Internet taxis, tracking a sensitive cargo, increasing travel safety, faster access in emergency cases, etc. are integral features of GPS in our lives.

10. 3D printers

3D printers appeared in the 1980s. However, after 30 years, they have found so many applications that they have completely changed their original path. Today, the 3D printer is used to test the prototype of a product before its mass production in the factory, which has significantly reduced the cost of design, troubleshooting and mass production of products. The 3D printer is used in the production of all kinds of jewelry, sculptures, toys and everything else.

What will be the next disruptive technology?

We must open our minds to imagine the transformative technologies of the future. Because changes are happening quickly and are inevitable, and we may not see most of today’s technologies in the next 10 years.

With significant advances in artificial intelligence, blockchain, self-driving cars, and cloud computing; We will be very excited to watch the profound impact of these phenomena in future life.
