In recent weeks, people’s excitement to use chatbots like ChatGPT has increased a lot; But one of the creators of the Internet, at the same time as the popularity of artificial intelligence, has asked people to put caution on the agenda.
Winton Surf Known among users as the “Father of the Internet,” he warned against rushing to invest in AI-driven conversational chatbots such as ChatGPT and Google Bard. He says that just because these chatbots are exciting to use shouldn’t make them overly dependent.
Speaking at a press conference in Mountain View, California, Cerf said that AI chatbots have an “ethical issue” and he hopes that people will think about the issue before investing in these chatbots: “Everyone is talking about ChatGPT or the Google version of it and “We understand that these chatbots don’t always work the way we want them to.”
The father of the Internet said in his new interview that some of those who use this new technology do not have benevolent intentions and try to use chatbots for their own benefit, not your benefit.
“Be thoughtful,” Wynton Cerf continued. We can’t always predict what will happen with these technologies and to be honest with you, our biggest problem is us humans. For this reason, man has not changed much in the last 400 or even 4,000 years.
Cerf says he asked one of the chatbots to add an emoji to the end of a sentence; But the chatbot has not managed to do this. Also, Cerf says he asked the chatbot to provide his own biography, and the result contained some incorrect information.
At the same time as the popularity of artificial intelligence tools increases, Microsoft and Google are trying to be more serious in this field. While investing 10 billion dollars in the creator of ChatGPT, Microsoft has injected artificial intelligence into the Bing search engine.
