Some believe that artificial intelligence will one day replace lawyers. This idea may sound a bit crazy, but according to a recent Reuters report, AI-based lawyer bots could be widely used in the not-too-distant future because of their ability to prepare briefs for legal cases.
To demonstrate the power of its AI bot in the field of advocacy, legal services company DoNotPay is offering $1 million to lawyers who will let an AI algorithm argue for them before the United States Supreme Court. The company’s chatbot appeared in court instead of a human lawyer on January 13. According to some people, legal defense through an algorithm is one of the worst ideas, but apparently this trend is the path that will continue in the future.
