The Omdia market research company, which examines the performance of the global semiconductor market, announced in a report that the value of this market reached $147 billion in the third quarter of 2022, which has decreased by about 7% compared to $158 billion in the second quarter of this year.

Compared to the previous quarter, the memory market has caused a 27% decrease in the profit of companies active in this field compared to the previous quarter due to the adjustment of customer inventory and the decrease in demand for data center chips, personal computers and smartphones.

With a 5.6% increase in sales in the third quarter compared to the second quarter of 2022, Qualcomm ranked third among the top semiconductor companies in the world. SK Hynix also dropped from third place to fourth place as its sales decreased by 26% during the said period. Microwave is also in the 6th place of this list with a 27% sales decrease.
