Broadcasting Director: We need frequencies of 600 to 800 for quality signaling

According to Zomit, the dispute over the transfer of 600-800 frequencies has caused a great deal of controversy between the Ministry of Communications and the Radio and Television Organization for at least the past eight years. While the regulator is in charge of the frequency bands; But the broadcaster itself as such Thank God SiahkaliIn an interview, the former deputy speaker of the Radio and Television of Iran introduced the owner of 600 to 800 frequency bands. Now, Jebli ally has poured water on the hands of the directors of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and in a short conversation with Zomit, announced that in order to broadcast the quality of programs in HD and better signalization, contrary to the order of the World Telecommunication Union, it is possible to transfer these important bands. Do not have to go to this ministry. But why are these frequencies, which are in the possession of the radio, important for the country’s communications sector?
What is the bandwidth of 600 to 800?
Internet use has doubled or even 50 times since the Corona outbreak, according to some experts. Infrastructure companies have repeatedly stated that they have increased bandwidth and transmission capacity so that Internet companies can serve their users at a time when they need the Internet more than ever; But evidence shows that despite this, users on social networks still complain about the slowdown and quality of the Internet. However, the 13th Minister of Communications attributes the problems in this regard to the lack of infrastructure development in the last 10 years; The Minister of Communications of the previous government means Mohammad Javad Azari JahromiIn the spring of 1999, in response to user criticism of Internet speed, he wrote:
The Ministry of Communications has increased the capacity of the fixed Internet network as much as possible; But in the mobile data sector, in order to increase the capacity, they need frequencies that have been available to the radio for a long time.
According to Jahromi, at that time, until these frequencies are released, it will not be possible to increase the capacity of the country’s mobile network further.
Jahromi had previously stated that the lack of frequency bands had reduced the quality of the Internet on the mobile network. In October 2009, when the Minister of Communications, in his live broadcast on Instagram, was widely criticized by users for reducing the quality of Internet speeds, he announced: “Time, we had to allocate some 900MHz bandwidth to aviation systems.”
Regulators in the previous government have repeatedly stated that so far, and based on their duty, they have provided all free frequencies to communication operators; However, part of the frequencies required by the operators are in the possession of Sada-o-Sima, which, according to the head of the regulator, has remained unused. However, in the face of this regulatory claim, the Radio and Television Organization has announced that the regulatory bands in question, namely the 600, 700 and 800 frequency bands, are being used to use some of the organization’s programs, and considering the cost they have incurred to maintain these frequency bands. These gangs will cost them.
In this regard, in the latest action of the Parliamentary Research Center, in a report published in March 1998, it was suggested that Sada-e Azadi, in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications, redistribute and hold auctions for renting 700 and 800 commercial frequency bands. Deposit in revenue line 140106 (revenue from telecommunication services and the right to use radio frequency). The proposal has not been answered by the Radio and Television Organization so far.
Broadcast: We need frequencies
Frequencies 600 to 800, which have become the best way to improve the quality of communications in the mobile network, especially after the introduction of the fifth generation of mobile phones, have been available to Sada-e Azadi for many years. It remains a claim that the directors of the broadcaster deny.
Peyman Jebli, The head of the Radio and Television Organization, like other directors of this organization in previous years, rejects the claim of the Ministry of Communications in this regard and tells Zomit that these frequencies are not free, contrary to the belief of the Ministry of Communications. In a short conversation with Zomit, Peyman Jebli says that they need these frequencies to be used in future courses and in HD quality and to send quality signals, especially in the conditions of sanctions in the country where it is not possible to use satellite signals. According to him, the frequencies of 700 and 900 are vital to deal with the limitations of radio.
Asked by Zomit whether keeping these frequencies is to compete with mobile operators in the future, he said:
These frequencies are currently under load and use. We do not intend to compete with communication operators. We use these frequencies to provide better quality programs. These two frequencies are vital to the broadcaster, and the broadcaster needs these frequencies in order to carry out its inherent mission.
However, Jebli does not completely deny the provision of these frequencies to the Ministry of Communications and emphasizes that they are negotiating with the Ministry of Communications for the joint use of these frequencies.
