Apple’s new patent shows a MacBook with a glass body and an all-over trackpad

Apple recently filed a new patent with the US Patent and Trademark Office that could show off the company’s future MacBook design with a wide glass trackpad. This patent refers to the touch input/output interface of the trackpad area, which is now borderless and made of various materials such as metal glass and composite materials. The surface of this interface can also be covered with a layer of glass or even sapphire.

The description of Apple’s patent number 17 refers to a laptop that uses a glass surface from the entire area under the keyboard and supports touch commands. Additionally, areas of flexibility are defined in the patent, possibly related to the touch I/O interface.
