This CCTV camera with a range of 2.5 km and artificial intelligence ensures security

During the CES 2024 event, home security and alarm system company Abode Systems unveiled the world’s first home surveillance camera equipped with the most advanced artificial intelligence capabilities and the longest Wi-Fi range. This camera was developed in collaboration with artificial intelligence company Xailient and semiconductor startup Morse Micro.

The data transmission range of this camera, which is called Abode Edge Camera, reaches more than 2.5 km and offers the longest battery life among home surveillance cameras.

Chris CarneyFounder and CEO Abode Systems Referring to the common problems of CCTV cameras, such as the fixed field of view and Wi-Fi network problems at long distances, he said: “We believe that CCTV cameras should always look at the most important thing, which is the home; That’s why the Abode Edge Camera will usher in a new era of CCTV technology to put the home and everything that really matters back into the spotlight.”

Abode Edge’s excellent Wi-Fi range is the result of using Morse Micro’s startup system-on-chip called Wi-Fi HaLow. HiLo Wi-Fi, unlike regular Wi-Fi, works on narrow RF bands to bypass obstacles that usually limit the range and perform satisfactorily even in areas full of devices and cameras.

The Abode Edge CCTV uses the IP67 waterproof standard and a 6000 mAh rechargeable battery that can last up to a year on a single charge. The artificial intelligence processing of the camera also includes object detection, face detection and detection of suspicious events.

The most exciting news of CES 2024

Currently, this camera only supports Google Assistant and will be available in the first quarter of 2024 for $200.
