Apple’s AirTag 2 has been delayed until 2025

Ming-Chi Kuoa well-established whistleblower, in New post It says that Apple will not launch the second generation of the AirTag smart tracker until 2025. Apparently, mass production of this accessory has been delayed until then for unknown reasons. Kuo previously said that mass production of the Apple AirTag 2 will begin in the fourth quarter of 2024.
According to Ming-Chi Kuo, AirTag 2 is going to become part of Apple’s spatial computing ecosystem. This ecosystem was born with the unveiling of Vision Pro, and Apple will work to improve it over time. Vision Pro is the core of this ecosystem.
Kuo previously said that AirTag will have close connections with Apple Vision Pro; But he refused to give any details. Maybe the AirTag’s Ultra Wideband chip is used to send location information to the Vision Pro.
So far, there have been very few rumors about AirTag 2. It is not clear what changes the new generation of Airtag will experience in terms of design, form factor and new capabilities. Probably AirTag 2 will be equipped with the second generation Ultra Wideband chip; A chip already used in the iPhone 15.
