Apple-style rant: “2022’s most powerful Android processor is weaker than our 2019 processor”

Apple’s long-awaited Far Out event was finally held. The people of Cupertino unveiled the latest products of the iPhone and Apple Watch series in this ceremony. Unlike standard iPhones, the new generation iPhones are equipped with a chip that Apple calls the most powerful chip in the mobile class in history.

According to Zomit, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are Apple’s newest flagships and use the A16 Bionic processor. Apple says the A16 is several generations ahead of the competition. The company praised its competitors at the Far Out event and said that the most powerful Android mobile processor in 2022 is weaker than Apple’s 2019 processor.

Apple says that thanks to the A16 chip, the new generation of iPhone Pros will feature fascinating animations of the capsule cavity.(Dynamic Island), offer one-day charging and take computational photography to a new level.

The CPU unit in the A16 chip is 40% faster than “competitors” with two high-power cores and four low-power cores. Apple did not directly mention the name of the rival chip, but it is likely to mean Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, which is used in Android flagships.

According to Apple, the graphics unit in the A16 processor has five cores and its bandwidth is 50% more than the previous generation. The A16 also uses a 16-core neural engine with the ability to process approximately 17 trillion arithmetic operations.

A16 Bionic processor, like Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, is based on 4nm lithography. Apple says that the use of this lithography made it possible to fit 16 billion transistors in the A16.
