Netflix is apparently not the only company that will increase the price of its online services in 2022. Amazon in its fourth quarter financial results report for 2021, announced that the price of Amazon Prime subscription in the United States will soon increase.
According to 9to5mac, Amazon has announced that the cost of subscribing to the Amazon Prime service will increase from $ 12.99 per month to $ 14.99 per month. Those who prefer an annual subscription will also pay $ 139 instead of $ 119, a 16 percent increase.
This change will apply to new customers from February 18, 2022, while this price increase will be updated for current members of Prime Service after March 25, 2022.
This is the first time since 2018 that Amazon has raised its Prime subscription price. The company argues that the reason for the price increase is the expansion of benefits in the package, as well as an increase in staff wages and an increase in transportation costs. It is unclear whether the company will increase the price of Prime subscriptions in other countries of the world.
