12 Huawei and Honor phones are getting HarmonyOS 4 public beta

Yu Chengdu, the CEO of Huawei’s consumer business, announced plans to update the original Hongmeng OS (Harmony OS in Chinese) next fall at the unveiling of the new Pocket 2 foldable phone. Called HarmonyOS NEXT, this update further refines the user experience by focusing solely on the HarmonyOS kernel and system apps. HarmonyOS NEXT will not run Android apps.

Eligible phone models to upgrade to HarmonyOS 4 public beta include:

  • Huawei P30
  • Huawei P30 Pro
  • Huawei Mate 20 Pro
  • Huawei Mate 20 RS Porsche Design
  • Huawei Nova 5 Pro
  • Huawei Mate 20
  • Huawei Mate 20X
  • Huawei Mate 20 X 5G
  • Honor 20
  • Honor 20 Pro
  • Honor View 20
  • Honor Magic 2
  • Also, several Huawei smartwatches will receive the official version of Harmony OS 4, including:

  • Huawei Watch 3
  • Huawei Watch 3 Pro
  • Huawei Watch GT3
  • Huawei Watch GT3 Pro
  • Huawei Watch GT Runner
  • Huawei Watch Buds
  • Huawei Watch Ultimate
  • To facilitate the update process, Huawei provides clear instructions for users to follow. For mobile devices, users can go to the Huawei Sports Health app and follow the designated route to check for updates. On smartwatches, users can directly access the update option from the settings menu.
